/Some comments from Workshop participants:

“It has had a big impact on how I see the community I work in and how I understand what the residents go through.  Biggest impact was on me looking at myself though.  It gave me lots to t hink about and motivation to seek out more, to help me personally.  Nothing I didn’t enjoy.  It was a great experience”.

Jenny Tew, HMP Grendon

“I enjoyed the whole experience, although it stimulated a lot of pain, which I am still processing to date.  It has been one of the most beneficial experiences of my life.

                                              Amanda Warsop, HMP Dovegate

“It would have been great to extend it for a week, yet I appreciate that it was to simply experience the nature of a TC and it achieved that exceptionally well.  I will always treasure my TC weekend.  Thank you all very much.”

                              Sarah Walker, Ley Prison Programme

“… I gained a lot from people’s observation and comments but more important was the learning and insight into how lack of self-esteem and status can strip one of feeling that one has anything to offer… when I returned to work it was with a determination not to forget this insight … To those who are wondering whether or not to apply for the Living-Learning Experience, my advice is: hesitate no longer!”

Jan Keen, Senior Care Officer, St. Maur, Devon

“I thoroughly enjoyed the whole course.  It was very refreshing to spend time with others from the same/similar careers.  I valued all aspects of the experience and do not feel there was any part I did not learn from.”

Amy Jardine, Ley Prison Programme
