Position Statements

The Association of Therapeutic Communities (ATC) is a professional organisation, constituted to promote the use of the therapeutic community way of working. For details of how the Association aims to do this, see the constitution. This page links to statements which have been agreed by the Executive Committee ("Steering Group") of the Association, and therefore represent a consensus view of professionals working in the field.

This work is in progress, and as new areas are covered, new topics will appear here. It is hoped that some will also be agreed in collaboration with other relevant organisations. This website is the primary source of these statements and anybody is welcome to use them, although we would ask that the source is acknowledged.
